A Promise & Scripture will be fulfilled

Hi Ethiopia Team
Scribbling some notes for you. My heart raced when I was reminded of Luke 4:18/19 and how that is a promise we can see fulfilled before our eyes. It really quickened the beating of my own heart towards the Almighty God, who is not just the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, but yours and mine.

Luke 4:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come

The same Spirit that led Jesus, came upon him with power from the Almighty God, also came upon us to bring the gospel to the poor. I am so in awe. We who were once spiritually bankrupt, got to receive an inheritance that righteousness could not even buy? We were anointed to bring Jesus to the spiritually and physically impoverished. What a privilege. This scripture and promise is fulfilled in our hearing, as we hear Him call, "speak of me - this is the time of the LORD's favor".

Will you join our LORD who has such a heart for those who are enslaved by sin and selfish lust, that they can be set free by our Savior's blood. The blind will see agin; they who can't see with their eyes or the eyes of their heart, can see again! Those who are down-casted, outcasted, without the approval of society, considered as dirt, treated like used slaves,.. these are the ones that Jesus came to bought their freedom.

Today is the day of salvation. The Lord's favor has come. Let us surrender to Him so that we may be simple washing bins to broken and weary souls. Will you be His voice? Will you cry out and call out to Him on behalf of the blind, the oppressed, the captives, the afflicted, the orphaned, the widowed and the poor? Lord Jesus, can you set free those that cannot wait to be delivered from trafficking, from drugs, from alcohol, from poverty, from hopelessness, from famine, from pride, from riches that corrupt, from self sufficiency, from self-righteousness, from religious facade, from abuse, from addictions, from fornication, from adultery, from depression, from loneliness, from broken homes and marriages,.... can your Spirit be free to do your bidding in us, and through us?

You are the called out ones, my friends. Let's seek the LORD's face together for Addis Ababa and Debre Zeyit. He wills to do miracles, He wills to change lives, to restore lives, to mend hearts, to bring hope, bring deliverance, and for none to perish.

Blessings, Bel

Updates from LOVE OUT LOUD 2/28

Update to our TEAM OUTREACH ON SAT 2/28

Hi Ethiopia Team
I was so thoroughly blessed by the ministry we got to be involved in at Adopt a Block/Neighborhood at Broward, and really it is the willing hearts to do anything for the LORD to touch another soul that touches me, and them.

So, our team of 8 students were knocking on doors at 10.30am in the neighborhood that is across the street from The Refuge. Purpose: Invite them to church, invite the moms to a women's bible study and to get to talk to them and find out their spiritual and physical needs. It was discouraging at first because hardly anyone was at home or in bed, but soon after we prayed and interceded for these families, the LORD open doors and hearts to us. Rob a black-gospel soul worship type of older gentleman invited us to pray for his students at Pompano Elementary, his time with Jesus and sang us a worship song that directed us to the throne room of God. What a blessing. We soon met Arthur, who used to go to the Youth Ministry at The Refuge, but has stopped going. Got to fellowship with him, urged him to come back to fellowship, and our students were just reaching out and praying for him, and his siblings. What a sight to behold.

Towards the end of our time there, we met with 3 grown beary men, one of them is a "preacher" to his two other brothers. We asked them how they are, Ottel quickly shared his financial burdens and that he needed to trust in the LORD, for his 10grandchildren and children to follow Jesus. His two other brothers wanted prayers for family and health, but not as open to us as Ottel but warmed up towards the end. They wanted us to go back and join their family barbecue sometime.

Huh, one more surprise, three young men who used to go to church back when they were little, were surprised that we offered them donuts, and wanted to talk to them about Jesus. Streetwise, they said, how can people be so nice. They didn't remember the goodness of our LORD, and we were given water to quench our thirst. Their way of accepting us and the good news. Asked us to come back and talk to them more about Christ. Love the open doors to men souls. The LORD loves.

One more extension to the LOVE OUT LOUD Updates, we got to do love bags at Huizenga Park and at the Library till 2.40pm. The challenge to the students go and share the good news, find someone to pray with, share with, and find out their names and their story. Encourage them and give them a "LOVE BAG". Lots of stories to tell you, so find out from these students who are able to make it: Micky, Leah, Sarah & Erika Lam, Yaneth, Woody, and Amanda.

We need to love mercy, live justly and walk humbly with our God. Rawk on Ethiopia Team. For those of you that did not get time off to do this team outreach, we can do one more before we leave. Mark your calendar for Sat, 3/28:9am - South Banquet Hall.

Love never fails, Bel
